This blog is about mountain life in La Alpujarra area of Spain, accompanied by two teenage sons and a selection of animals. Unlike some “Brits abroad”, we love partaking in the local culture and traditions. In our neck of the woods, there’s definitely a big fan club for visiting restaurants and bars, although town fiestas are on hold at present.
We live at 1,680m on the south side of the Sierra Nevada (hence the title), with a peak called Cerrillo Redondo (pictured) in the background. From nearby land, we can look across to Salobreña, on the Costa del Sol, and can drive there in 1.5hrs. Riding a horse to the mountain peak takes around the same time. I know which I prefer. 🙂
